What are the basic requirements to rent a vehicle?
To rent with Alberty Rent Car you must be over 21 years old and present: 1) Valid driver's license (national or international), 2) Official ID (Passport or ID card), and 3) Selection of in-person payment method (Cash or Card) with corresponding security deposit.
What are the payment methods and how do taxes apply?
We charge $0 upfront online. Payment is made in person upon receiving the car. You can pay in: 1) Cash (USD or DOP at daily exchange rate), a transparent final rate with no bank surcharges; or 2) Credit/Debit Card via POS machine, subject to 18% ITBIS tax and bank fees in Dominican Republic.
How does the US$ 300 security deposit work?
A refundable US$ 300 deposit is required upon vehicle delivery. When paying by credit card, a temporary pre-authorization hold for US$ 300 is placed, which we release immediately upon vehicle return in good condition. In cash, the deposit is handed over in person and returned 100% in full at contract end.
How does airport and hotel delivery work?
We coordinate direct personalized deliveries with no airport lines at Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), Las Américas Airport (SDQ), and major hotels/resorts in Bávaro and Punta Cana. Our team meets you in person to hand over keys and inspect the vehicle.
What is the fuel and mileage policy?
We offer unlimited mileage so you can explore Dominican Republic freely. We deliver the car with a specific fuel level and simply request it to be returned with the exact same amount to avoid extra refueling charges.
