Terms and Conditions of Rental

1. Rental Eligibility

To rent a vehicle, the client must:

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Hold a valid and current driver's license.
• Present an official ID (ID card or passport).
• Comply with payment and security deposit requirements set by Alberty Rent Car.

2. Reservations

Reservations are subject to vehicle availability. Alberty Rent Car reserves the right to replace the reserved vehicle with another of equal or higher category in unforeseen circumstances.

3. Delivery and Return

Vehicles can be delivered and returned at:

• Hotels in Bávaro and Punta Cana.
• Punta Cana International Airport.
• Other previously agreed locations.

The client must return the vehicle on the established date and time. Late returns may generate additional charges.

4. Payment Methods, Taxes, and Credit Card Hold (Pre-Authorization)

Rental payment is made in person upon vehicle delivery. The client must select their preferred payment method when reserving:

• Cash Payment: Cash in US Dollars (USD) or Dominican Pesos (DOP) is accepted at the daily exchange rate upon vehicle delivery. Published cash rates are transparent and final with no extra surcharges.
• Credit / Debit Card Payment: Card payments processed via POS terminal in the Dominican Republic are subject to 18% ITBIS tax and applicable bank fees, which are not included in the base rate.
• Credit Card Hold (Pre-Authorization): When depositing the security deposit (US$ 300) or paying with a credit card, a temporary hold / pre-authorization is placed on the funds. Alberty Rent Car releases the hold immediately upon vehicle return in good condition. However, the time required for your issuing bank to reflect the available balance ranges between 3 to 7 business days depending on your bank.

5. Authorized Drivers

Only persons registered and authorized in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. The use of the vehicle by unauthorized persons is the sole responsibility of the lessee.

6. Permitted Vehicle Use

It is strictly prohibited to:

• Drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Participate in races or competitions.
• Use the vehicle for illegal activities.
• Transport illegal persons.
• Transport dangerous goods.
• Sublease or lend the vehicle without authorization.
• Drive outside the authorized territory without written consent from Alberty Rent Car.

7. Insurance

All vehicles have the insurance coverage indicated in the agreement. The client will be responsible for the deductible and any other damage caused to the vehicle.

8. Accidents

In case of accident, theft, or damage, the client must:

• Immediately inform Alberty Rent Car.
• Notify the competent authorities when required.
• Not abandon the vehicle.

9. Fuel

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as it was delivered. Otherwise, the corresponding charges will apply.

10. Fines and Traffic Violations

The client will be responsible for the payment of traffic fines, parking, tolls, and any penalties generated during the rental period.

11. Damages and Liability

The lessee will be responsible for:

• Damage to the vehicle.
• Loss or breakage of keys.
• Damage to tires and wheels.
• Damage to the interior of the vehicle.
• Loss of vehicle documents.
• Accessories delivered with the vehicle.

12. Cleaning

If the vehicle is returned with excessive dirt, sand, stains, strong odors, or residues that require specialized cleaning, Alberty Rent Car may apply an additional fee.

13. Cancelations

Cancelations made with sufficient advance notice may be refunded in accordance with the current policy. Late cancelations or failure to show up ("No Show") may generate charges.

14. Personal Property

Alberty Rent Car is not responsible for items left inside the vehicles.

15. Data Protection

The information provided by the client will be used solely to manage the reservation, comply with legal obligations, and provide the contracted service.

16. Limitation of Liability

Alberty Rent Car will not be liable for economic losses, delays, flight cancelations, travel interruptions, or other indirect damages arising from the use of the vehicle.

17. Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic. Any controversy shall be submitted to the competent courts of the Dominican Republic.
